COVID-19 cases in the Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) continue to grow with 159 new infections, 70 of them are in Queanbeyan.
It comes after yesterday’s previous high of 107 cases in the district.
The number of people in hospital has dropped from four to two while 92 people are under active care.
There are 471 active COVID cases in the SNSWLHD with the total number of infections up to 1,113 since the start of the outbreak in June.
The SNSWLHD announced that daily updates will no longer include breakdown by town or suburb.
The Queanbeyan Palerang LGA recorded 70 new COVID-19 cases.
Snowy Monaro LGA has 27 new COVID infections.
Yass Valley LGA also recorded 27 COVID-19 cases.
Bega Valley recorded 12 new infections.
Goulburn Mulwaree LGA recorded 10 new cases.
Eurobodalla LGA has seven new cases.
Upper Lachlan reported six new cases.
The news comes as NSW recorded a massive spike in infections with 21,151 COVID-19 total cases.
