The ACT has recorded nine new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours (to 1.30pm Saturday 28 March), bringing Canberra’s total to 71.
Across Australia, there have been 3,378 confirmed cases as at 6.30am today, 212 new cases since 3pm yesterday.
The new ACT cases include six males and three females, aged between 48 and 73.
ACT Health is undertaking thorough contact tracing but can confirm that seven of the cases are linked to overseas travel, including cruise ships, one is close contacts of confirmed cases and one is currently under investigation by Health Protection Services.
There remains no evidence of local transmission in the ACT.
There are no new flights associated with these cases. All flight details of confirmed cases are available on the ACT Health website via health.act.gov.au.
There have been 3,988 negative COVID-19 tests in the ACT to date.
There are currently six COVID-19 patients in Canberra hospitals. The rest are isolating at home with ACT Health support.
A total of two cases have recovered from COVID-19 and have been released from self-isolation.
ACT Health is continuing to take appropriate public health action in line with national guidelines.
