Two-year-old boy dies after dog attack in Cowra

A two-year-old boy has died after being bitten by a dog in Cowra earlier this morning, Tuesday 8 November.

About 10.20am today, emergency services were called to a motel on Grenfell Road after reports the boy had suffered serious injuries.

Officers from Chifley Police District attended; however, a member of the public had already taken the child to Cowra Hospital.

The boy was airlifted to Westmead Hospital where he died a short time ago.

A crime scene was established at the motel, which continues to be examined by specialist officers.

Two dogs were secured and seized by local council.

Investigations into the incident continue, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
