Man arrested over fatal Adelaide shooting

A 44-year-old man has been arrested over the fatal shooting of another man in Adelaide.

He was detained at a suburban Park Holme property late on Monday.

Detectives expect to charge him with murder ahead of his appearance in Port Adelaide Magistrates Court later on Tuesday.

The detained man and the victim were known to each other, South Australia Police said on Tuesday.

Police and paramedics were called to suburban Edwardstown on Sunday night where they found a 41-year-old man on the roadway with a gunshot wound.

He was rushed to Flinders Medical Centre in a critical condition but died soon after.

Detective Inspector Mark McEachern said the incident was being treated as a homicide.

“At the moment we haven’t located the firearm,” he told reporters.

Detectives have seized a white Toyota Camry believed to be connected to the victim for forensic examination.

Officers also doorknocked local residents and later released CCTV of three vehicles in the area at the time of the incident.

The first two vehicles appeared to be small white hatchbacks or sedans and the third was a white sports utility vehicle.

“Investigators are seeking to identify those vehicles and their drivers as they believe they may have important information that could assist the investigation,” police said in a statement.

“Those drivers potentially saw the victim, a man riding a pushbike, and possibly a third person in the street.”
