Two charged after early morning gunshot shock in Sydney

Two people have been charged after NSW Police scooped up five people in Sydney’s west following reports of a gun being fired.

Officers went to Charles Street in Liverpool shortly after 2am on Monday and set up around a block of units.

A man, 43, was later charged with two counts of possessing a shortened firearm and a woman, 29, has been charged over the alleged theft of a truck along with drug and driving-related offences.

The pair were refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Tuesday.

Three remaining people who were arrested have been released pending further inquiries.
