Two 19-year-old P-platers speeding on the same stretch of road at Molonglo Valley lost their licences overnight following an ACT Road Policing speed enforcement operation.
The first driver was detected driving at driving at 115km/h in a 90km/h zone on William Hovell Drive, Molonglo Valley at about 7.50 last night, Friday 21 April.
The 19-year-old Crestwood (NSW) man, driving a Ford XR6 Falcon with a provisional licence will have his right to drive in the ACT suspended after he accrued six demerit points (with double demerits in place) and incurred a $454 fine.
Shortly after, Road Policing officers stopped a blue Ford Fiesta that was travelling at 116km/h along the same stretch of road.
A 19-year-old Theodore woman who held an ACT provisional drivers licence was fined $454 and will also accrue six demerit points – which will lead to her licence being suspended for three months.
ACT Policing are reminding all road users to slow down and drive to the conditions and that double demerits are in force until midnight Tuesday 25 April.
