Bold Bandannas Charity stall

Relay for Life Team, the Bold Bandannas, will hold a stall at the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets on Saturday 27 May 8am-5pm to raise funds for cancer research, prevention and support services. There will be: homemade preserves, a range of handmade items, including  beanies, scarves and knee rugs, as well as plants and worm juice for your plants. GIVIT seeks kids’ socks

GIVIT is working with a not-for-profit organisation in the ACT that provides family support services to children, young people and their families. They are currently in urgent need of warm socks for inclusion in clothing packs for children aged 2–16 years to ensure they stay comfortable with quality clothing during winter. The clothing packs are distributed to vulnerable families in the Capital Region who are struggling with the rising cost of living. Good quality socks in a range of sizes can be donated, or this request can be funded with 100% of money received by GIVIT used to purchase socks for these children. Brad Hardy Foundation Walk 2023

A charity walk will be held in memory of fallen AFP officer Brad Hardy, who died aged 23, and in support of Run4Blue on Saturday 27 May 10am at Kings Park, Lake Burley Griffin. Before the walk, a relay between AFP Officers, AFP Protective Service Officers, AFP recruits and a Brad Hardy team will be held at 9.30am. Folk Dance Canberra

Orfeevi Ritmi presents ‘Rhythms of Orfeus’.Experience wild rhythms, exotic melodies and bold singing, blending ancient traditions with modern musical idioms at Folk Dance Canberra Hall, Hackett on Sunday 28 May 2.30-4.30pm. Austrian Choir Canberra

Red Dove preloved

Next Red Dove preloved clothing at Tuggeranong Uniting Church, Wanniassa is Thursday to Saturday 1-3 June 9am-1pm and 6-8 July. Lots of winter clothing for women, men and kids, plus books, linen and bric-a-brac. Support us and keep reusable items out of landfill. Great coffee and cake for morning tea with a sausage sizzle on Saturday 3 June and See Change will also be there with their winter clothes and toy swap. Conder Craft Group

Canberra Seniors Winter Fete

There’s lots to see, buy, taste and enjoy at our Canberra Seniors Winter Fete at 10 Watson Street, Turner on Saturday 3 June 10am-3pm. We have books, puzzles, games, DVDs jewellery, plants, terrariums and a huge Trash and Treasure stall.  Sit down and enjoy a Devonshire tea, strudel, a hamburger, winter soup, sausage sizzle or a Sri Lankan snack. Be entertained by the Morris Dancers and the Latin Choir. Canberra Branch of the CWA invites you to their annual afternoon tea in support of the Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea campaign, on Friday 2 June 1pm at 8 Barry Drive, Civic.
