Man caught with meth in Kambah

A 42-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court next month after police found meth in his backpack in Kambah.

About 12.50am today, Monday 23 October, police had cause to speak to the man while he was riding a bicycle across playing fields near Kett Street, Kambah.

The man identified himself, with a check of police intelligence indicating the man was suspected of dealing drugs.

A subsequent search of the man’s backpack revealed two small clip seal bags containing three grams of methamphetamine (ice), as well as clip seal bags containing ice residue, scales, and a large quantity of unused clip seal bags.

The man was arrested, and has been charged with one count of possess prohibited substance.

ACT Policing would like to remind the community that possession of drugs such as ice remains illegal, and that police will continue to target the manufacture and sale of illicit drugs.
