The 2023 ACT Public Education Awards held this week recognised the dedication of the ACT’s public education staff and volunteers.
Yvette Berry, ACT Minister for Education and Youth Affairs, said: “It is important every day, but especially on World Teacher’s Day [Friday 27 October], to acknowledge the incredible achievements of our public school teachers, leaders, support staff and volunteers.
“These individuals continue to go above and beyond, ensuring that our children receive a stellar education.”
Teachers are the single most influential factor in shaping the educational outcomes of students, outside of their own personal lives, Ms Berry said.
“The educational achievements of ACT school students consistently rank at the forefront of the nation, a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work of our school staff and communities,” the minister said.
“I thank all Canberra public school staff for their commitment to providing students with a high-quality education and ensuring they have the best possible start in life.”
