BOM issues severe thunderstorm warning for ACT

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for heavy rainfall, effecting parts of the ACT, with immediate impact to the Woden area.

Heavy rainfall is expected to continue throughout the evening. 

If it is safe to do so, the ACT State Emergency Service advises the community to:

  • Move your car under cover and away from trees – Secure or put away loose items
  •  Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines
  • Stay indoors away from windows
  • Never drive, walk or ride through floodwater.

    If you need support during storms and floods call the ACT State Emergency Service on 132 500.
