Wonderburger: A retro-modern delight opens in Kingston

Nestled in the newly refurbished Eyre Street Market in old Kingston, Wonderburger stands out with its chic retro-modern design and eye-catching red-and-white signage.

Wonderburger is a joint venture between Olek Czezowski, Andrew Olejniczak and Vlada Makic and CD was invited along to try the food, leaving feeling very impressed, and equally as full.

The broad menu consists of a range of burgers, fried chicken, a hotdog, thick shakes, soft serve ice cream, sundaes, fries, onion rings, sweet potato chips, jalapeno poppers and more.

Most of the menu items are simple yet are done so well, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine through. The burgers are the main attraction and they have options for all tastes. The Wonder burger is a classic style, featuring a thick, seasoned beef patty along with cheese, lettuce, onion, pickles, relish and their house sauce. The Wonderbird is a southern fried chicken burger and the Tikkaville features fried chicken with Tikka sauce. They also have options for those with dietary restrictions, with most burgers available gluten-free, while the Funguy is a veggie option and the Beyond Faking It is fit for vegans.

The interior gives off a nostalgic feel of an old-school diner with a modern twist. The red-and-white signs set the tone for a fun dining experience, while there are stools inside where you can eat, or there is plenty of space to sit outside.

If you’re craving a classic burger experience, Wonderburger promises a delicious journey with every bite. Open daily 11am to 9pm. Located at shop 9/34 Eyre Street, Kingston.
