18yo Greenway woman charged after making purchases with stolen bank cards

An 18-year-old Greenway woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court today after allegedly using stolen bank cards to make several fraudulent purchases.

About 8am on Sunday 2 June, a silver Mercedes and a wallet were taken from a home in Wright. The resident reported the theft to police a short time later.

That same day, the woman was captured on CCTV footage using the stolen bank cards at several stores in Weston and Kambah.

After identifying the woman depicted in video surveillance from the stores, police executed a search warrant at the woman’s home yesterday afternoon, 7 June.

The woman was arrested and several clothing items matching the items worn in the CCTV footage were located.

She has been charged with four counts of obtaining property by deception and riding in a motor vehicle without consent.
