Free buses will be available for anyone keen to catch a glimpse of King Charles and Queen Camilla in Canberra on Monday 21 October.
Free shuttle buses are available for anyone travelling to the royal couple’s public events at the Australian War Memorial and Parliament House.
Transport Canberra and the Government of the Australian Capital Territory said for anyone attending the AWM event, at 12:35pm, a free shuttle services will run approximately every 15 minutes from 10am, with the last service departing at 11:30am.
The shuttle will provide frequent pick-up and drop-off services from City Interchange platform 5 via the Canberra Centre to the AWM at Treloar Crescent at bus stop 4797.
Return shuttles will commence at bus stop 4797 20 minutes after the completion of the event.
For the Parliament House event – where the public can see Charles and Camilla at 1pm, or during a meet and greet on the forecourt at 2:10pm – free shuttle services will run every 15 minutes from 10:30am, with the last service departing at 12:30pm.
The shuttle will provide frequent pick-ups from City Interchange platform 3 and drop off at Parliament House.
Return shuttles will commence from the drop off location at Parliament House 20 minutes after the completion of the event.
There will be a temporary bus stop in front of the Parliament House at the intersection of Queen Victoria Terrence and Federation Mall.
Fare-free travel will also still be available on all regular bus and light rail services across the network on the day.
However, Transport Canberra and the ACT Government said several bus stops would not be serviced from 10am to approximately 3pm on the day due to the royal visit.
Routes 54, 57 and 58 will be diverted in both directions.
