Chief Minister Barr announces new cabinet

Chief Minister Andrew Barr has today announced his new cabinet.

Mr Barr was re-elected following the 2024 ACT Legislative Assembly election, which was held on 19 October.

ACT Labor claimed its seventh consecutive term in government, beginning an unbroken stretch of 27 years in power.

Mr Barr said the cabinet’s priorities were delivering new infrastructure, increasing housing supply, making public healthcare more accessible and relief for the cost-of-living crisis.

Infrastructure projects that will continue include the Northside Hospital, Canberra Lyric Theatre (Canberra Theatre Centre) and the Canberra Aquatic Centre, as well as additional social housing, the extension of light rail, and various local projects in the suburbs.
