Man on good behaviour bond faces court after Tuggeranong police pursuit

A 28-year-old man, subject to a good behaviour order, is set to appear in court today following a police pursuit in Tuggeranong early this morning.

At approximately 12:40am on Tuesday 26 November, police patrolling Kambah observed a white Mazda BT-50 with stolen registration plates. Officers saw the man enter the vehicle and perform a burnout on a residential street in front of an unmarked police car.

When directed to stop, the man fled, running over tyre deflation devices during the ensuing pursuit. He brought the vehicle to a stop a short time later on the Tuggeranong Parkway, where he was arrested.

At the ACT Watch House, the man underwent a blood alcohol screening test, returning a result of 0.103 grams of alcohol per 210 litres of breath.

He has been charged with failing to stop for police, aggravated/furious/reckless driving, driving with alcohol in his blood, and breaching good behaviour obligations.

The man is scheduled to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 26 November.
