ACT Policing seeks information on Wright car fire

ACT Policing is appealing for public assistance regarding a car fire that occurred on Steve Irwin Avenue, Wright, last month.

At approximately 2:30pm on Tuesday, 31 December 2024, ACT Fire & Rescue and police responded to a vehicle fire in an underground car park next to the Metro Woolworths in Wright.

The vehicle, a blue Mazda 3, is suspected to have been deliberately set alight.

Witnesses reported seeing two young males leaving the scene, one wearing a white shirt and the other riding a scooter, heading towards Gornall Street, Wright.

ACT Policing is encouraging residents in Wright to review CCTV or dashcam footage from the afternoon of 31 December for any signs of suspicious activity or persons in the area.

Anyone with information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website, quoting reference number 7940192. Information can be provided anonymously.
