Man arrested for riding unregistered motorbike on meth

A 46-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates court today after allegedly being caught riding an unregistered motorbike with meth in his system.

At about 3:40pm yesterday afternoon, Thursday 16 January, police observed a motorbike travelling on Yarra Glen in excess of the posted speed limit.

After following the bike, officers spoke to the rider in Curtin and discovered the motorcycle had been unregistered since 2008.

The man underwent alcohol and drug testing which returned a positive result for methamphetamine.

He was arrested and charged with driving with a prescribed drug in oral fluid, using an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle.
