Theresa Warwick has been appointed as a new presidential member of the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) and will begin her seven-year term on 1 April. The appointment was announced today by Attorney-General Tara Cheyne.
With nearly 25 years of experience at the private bar, Ms Warwick brings extensive expertise in criminal law and a strong background in tribunal work to ACAT. She has been serving as an acting sessional presidential member of the tribunal since June 2024.
Ms Warwickโs career spans various roles within the ACT legal system, including:
- Deputy-Chair of the Sentence Administration Board (since May 2023)
- Senior Member of ACAT (2020-24)
- Special Magistrate (2019-2020)
- Ordinary Member of ACAT (2017-20)
Her experience as an arbiter also extends to the sporting arena as a respected judge and referee for Boxing ACT, for which she served as the organisationโs president from 2015 to 2020.
