Woman to face court on high range drink driving charge

A 33-year-old woman who returned a blood alcohol level of 0.280 – more than five times the legal limit -has been charged with drink driving offences following a single vehicle collision in Narrabundah on Friday evening, 24 July.

Police were called to the single vehicle collision about 6.20pm on Friday on Jerrabombera Avenue in Narrabundah.

The woman, an AFP member who is not a police officer or Protective Service Officer, was subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

She was taken to Woden Police Station where she underwent further analysis, returning a result of 0.280.

The woman was issued an immediate suspension notice for a period of 90 days and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date charged with one count of drink driving.

This incident has been referred to AFP Professional Standards.
