Lavender chamomile moon milk
- 500ml unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tsp dried lavender buds (food-grade), plus extra to garnish (optional)
- 2 Tbsp honey (or maple syrup, if vegan)
- 1 chamomile tea bag
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Lavender and chamomile have been used for many years to help people snooze. The sedative effect is caused by apigenin, a nutrient that may reduce anxiety, leaving you feeling relaxed and sleepy – perfect for unwinding before bedtime.
The combination of lavender and chamomile also has digestive- and nervous-system-sedating properties, making this lavender chamomile moon milk the perfect after-dinner beverage.
Lavender chamomile tea has been a popular blend over the years, and this milk ups your tea game and ignites your senses using a flavour combination that is very much an old favourite.
Add your chamomile tea bag to the saucepan along with all the other ingredients. You can let your milk simmer a bit longer for a more potent chamomile flavour. You may also wish to strain your milk to remove the lavender buds prior to drinking.
