The annual Zonta Club of Canberra Breakfast pre-loved fashion sale will be held this weekend, 13-14 March, with a range of vintage and high-end fashion labels on offer. This year’s sale has a theme of ‘regeneration’ to send a message of “healing and transformation during difficult times”. Sale proceeds will be donated to projects that support and empower women, such as birthing kits for women in developing countries and scholarships for girls studying in Canberra.

The pre-loved fashion sale will be held at Yarramundi Cultural Centre, 245 Lady Denman Drive, Canberra, Friday 13 March 5-8pm with a pre-sale event that includes champagne and finger food, tickets $25 via trybooking.com; Saturday 14 March 9am-3pm, free entry.

2020 treatment trends

The Cosmetic Physicians College of Australasia (CPCA) has predicted non-surgical cosmetic procedures will continue to be popular in 2020, with innovation, advanced technology and new products driving the demand for minimally invasive treatments. CPCA board member Dr Naomi McCullum’s predictions for treatment trends in 2020 include:

  • Volumisers or biostimulators to treat skin laxity, with long-lasting injectable fillers that restore volume and stimulate the growth of collagen in targeted areas
  • Threadlifting: a procedure designed to elevate ‘drooping’ areas of the face and considered to be a temporary and minimally invasive alternative to a facelift
  • Face shaping with injectables, such as lifting the tip of the nose or defining contours with dermal fillers
  • Body re-shaping with body sculpting procedures that reduce fat and tone muscle at the same time.

White Shirt Campaign

Witchery has announced its 12th 2020 White Shirt Campaign, in support of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF). The annual campaign sees the fashion retailer donate gross proceeds from every one of its special white shirts sold to OCRF, a foundation dedicated to funding national ovarian cancer research, and has raised over $13 million for ovarian cancer research to date. Currently, there is no early detection test for ovarian cancer, and OCRF says only 20-25% of women diagnosed will survive beyond five years.

From 15 April, the White Shirt Campaign collection will be available in store and online via witchery.com.au
