Three locations across Mollymook and Ulladulla on the NSW Shoalhaven Coast were visited by a confirmed COVID-19 case from Sydney on the weekend of 12-13 September.
ACT Health have advised anyone who attended the Mollymook Bannisters Pavilion Rooftop Bar & Grill, Sunday 13 September 12.30-2.15pm; Carlo’s Italian Ristorante Bar & Seafood in Ulladulla, Saturday 12 September 8-9.30pm; and Ulladulla’s Milton Ulladulla Ex Servos Club, Saturday 12 September 2-6.15pm for more than an hour to get tested for COVID-19 and immediately self-isolate until 14 days after they attended the location.
ACT Health is contacting ACT residents who visited the above venues at the specified times, based on information received from NSW Health.
In addition, any ACT residents who were in attendance at the Mollymook and Ulladulla locations during this time are asked to contact ACT Health via the COVID-19 Helpline on (02) 6207 7244, so advice and support can be provided.
There are also several locations in Sydney that confirmed cases have visited while infectious.
Any Canberrans who have recently been in NSW are asked to keep up to date with the latest advice from NSW Health, via the NSW Health website.
Canberrans ‘encouraged’ to stay in town for school holidays
As the spring school holidays approach, ACT Acting Chief Health Officer Dr Vanessa Johnston is “encouraging people to think about staying in Canberra and enjoying what Canberra has to offer these school holidays”.
“If people do decide to travel out of the ACT, we ask they monitor the COVID-19 website of the state or territory they are visiting and reconsider their plans if the destination becomes a COVID-affected area,” she said.
“Situations can change quickly so people should monitor the advice right up to and during their travel.
“If welcoming relatives or visitors from interstate to Canberra, please ask them not to come if they are feeling unwell.”
ACT Policing has encouraged residents to keep up the good work over the school holidays as borders open up.
Inspector Rachel Hutka from ACT Policing’s COVID-19 Taskforce said recent border announcements were a testament to the efforts of all Canberrans.
“Thanks to our excellent COVID compliance record, ACT residents are now able to travel to South Australia and Queensland,” Inspector Hutka said.
“Anyone heading interstate over the school holidays is reminded to remain vigilant and follow the health directions of the jurisdiction they are in. Together, we can ensure the ACT stays COVID-safe and open for travel.
“While the holidays are also a great opportunity for families to come together, I’d encourage everyone to be mindful of the risks close gatherings can pose for certain members of the ACT community. Consider what health precautions you can take during visits.”
ACT Policing will continue to work with Access Canberra and ACT Health to conduct compliance patrols throughout the school holiday period.
In the past seven days, ACT Policing conducted 792 quarantine checks bringing the total number of checks to almost 12,000.
