New development sets Coombs suburb price record

The first sale for a new development in Molonglo Valley may just have set a new suburb price record.

According to Blackshaw Projects agent Sam Dodimead, the $600,000 sale of a three-bedroom apartment at Zapari Group’s Molonglo Falls development has broken the Coombs suburb record for the sale of an apartment.

Dodimead said the record price is based on available sales data.

“Molonglo Falls has set the benchmark for apartment living within Molonglo Valley,” he said.

“This is exemplified by strong sales results across the project, including the sale of a three-bedroom apartment for $600,000 after just 12 hours on the market.”

Molonglo Falls, on John Gorton Drive, will be home to 140 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, as well as communal areas like resident lounges, rooftop cinema and bike workshop, as well as well as a biophilic ecosystem design.

Cox Architecture’s Ronan Moss said Molonglo Falls has been designed to mimic nature, with a waterfall and central atrium.

“The central atrium allows the apartments to open in two directions to achieve cross ventilation, improving apartment living standards,” he said.

“The organic shape of the building is designed with an escarpment of tearing rocks in mind; its cascade-like nature washes seamlessly into the waterfall feature and maximises the connection to sunlight.”

Zapari Group CEO Nick Skepev said “we knew with Molonglo Falls we were creating something unique that would appeal to buyers who are seeking quality, amenity and lifestyle convenience, rather than focussing on price”.

“Our vision for Molonglo Falls was to deliver something brave and bold, unique to the region that also made a positive contribution to the pristine surrounds,” he said.

“We see Canberra as a modern and sophisticated city; Molonglo Falls is designed to evolve that narrative with projects that enhance the urban fabric of our city.”

Apartments start at $330,000, visit molonglofalls.com.au for more information.
