Car and bicycle collide after possible ‘earlier interaction’

ACT Policing is calling for information about a collision on Athllon Drive in Phillip involving a cyclist and a car early this morning, Friday 23 October.

About 6.20am, ACT Policing responded to reports of a collision between a grey sedan and a cyclist on a black and red bicycle on Athllon Drive, Phillip.

Police believe the driver of the grey sedan and the cyclist had an earlier interaction when travelling westbound on Hindmarsh Drive.

The collision occurred a short time later on Athllon Drive, approximately 100 metres south of the Hindmarsh Drive intersection.

The cyclist suffered serious facial injuries from the collision and was transported to The Canberra Hospital by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics.

Police would like to thank drivers for their patience while southbound lanes of Athllon Drive were closed for collision investigation.

Police are urging anyone who was travelling on Hindmarsh Drive and/or Athllon Drive this morning who may have witnessed or captured the interaction or collision on dash-cam to contact police.
