From family activities and trails, to restored heritage areas and contemporary exhibitions, MoAD is an inspiring experience in one iconic building.
With most of us still wondering ‘what the pup’ just happened, the brand new iteration of Behind the Lines: The year in political cartoons will help us make sense of the dog’s breakfast that was 2020.
The exhibition includes 104 cartoons including digital cartoons for the first time. There’s a brand new Whoosh Machine – put your ball in the dog bowl and see it travel through the tubes to land at a doggy destination. Follow the Family Trail, digging up clues to find your way around the exhibition or join cartoonist Cathy Wilcox as she takes you through a drawing activity.
When have we needed our political cartoonists so much?
Stop by Yours Faithfully and show the kids what letter writing was like before iPads and social media. Why not write Christmas thank-yous on vintage typewriters – pop them in the letterbox and MoAD will post them for you!
Step back in time to the Bob Hawke era in the restored Prime Minister’s suite or absorb history by sitting in the House of Representatives and Senate Chambers. Let guides take you on a tour so you don’t miss a thing. Free building tours depart throughout the day and showcase the building’s
highlights and history.
