Police seize $100k and 43kg drugs from two ACT homes

Police have seized more than $100,000 in cash and approximately 43 kilograms of cannabis following search warrant activity this week.

On Wednesday morning, 3 March, police executed a search warrant at a home in Palmerston. Detectives from ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations team located a number of vacuum sealed bags containing cash totaling more than $100,000. The cash is suspected to be the proceeds of crime. 

A further search warrant was executed yesterday, 4 March, at an unoccupied residence in Yarralumla. AFP Canine teams assisted investigators to locate approximately 43 kilograms of dried cannabis in vacuum sealed bags. This volume of cannabis has an estimated street value of $300,000.

While no people have been charged in relation to these warrants, police believe a crime syndicate focused on the supply of cannabis and other drugs into the ACT is responsible. Investigations are ongoing.
