Provisional driver charged with culpable driving following fatal collision

A 19-year-old man who was a provisional driver at the time of a fatal collision in October last year will face the ACT Magistrates Court next week on serious driving offences.

A 16-year-old girl died after the single-vehicle collision on Longmore Crescent in Wanniassa about 1.50am on Saturday 31 October 2020.

The driver, who held a provisional licence, and two passengers were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The girl was transferred to hospital with life-threatening injuries and passed away on Tuesday 3 November 2020.

The 19-year-old man has been summonsed to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday 14 April for the offence of culpable driving causing death.
