Woman under 30 is the ACT’s latest confirmed case of COVID 19

A woman under the age of 30 is the latest confirmed case of Coronavirus COVID 19 to be recorded in the ACT in the past 24 hours, the fourth confirmed case in the past two weeks. The ACT’s total is now 106.   

The case is still under investigation but is believed to be related to overseas travel. There are currently two cases under investigation.

There is one COVID 19 patient in a Canberra hospital in a stable condition.

A total of 98 cases have recovered from COVID 19 in the ACT and have been released from self-isolation. The remaining cases are isolating at home with ACT Health support.  

The ACT’s death toll remains at three.

The number of negative tests in the ACT is now 7,632.

Be responsible this weekend

ACT Chief Health Officer Dr Kerryn Coleman is reminding everyone to do the right thing this Anzac Day long weekend and to stay at home, avoid any unnecessary travel or gatherings of people, and do not use playgrounds, skate parks, outdoor exercise stations or dog parks. If you do go out, be sure to keep a distance of 1.5m from other people and maintain good respiratory hygiene.

The ACT Government has also established a helpline to assist Canberrans through the challenges of COVID-19. The COVID-19 Helpline is now live and will operate on 02 6207 7244 between 8am and 8pm daily.

The Government encourages all people of Canberra to continue to stay up to date on developments through the COVID-19 website, as well as ACT Health social media channels.  

People who are concerned and want further information on the virus, can also call the Australian Government’s Coronavirus Health Information Line on1800 020 080. The line operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
