On behalf of numerous animal charities, including Canberra Pet Rescue, ClubDraws run a weekly raffle online giving subscribers the chance to win $2,000 prize money.
It costs from $2 a week to subscribe.
At a time when selling raffle tickets face-to-face is either not permitted or challenging, ClubDraws makes it easy for charities to raise much-needed funds.
Canberra Pet Rescue signed up to the raffle in March this year.
President of the local charity, Amanda Doelle, says “an incredible $2,000 prize is on offer to one lucky winner every single week with at least 50% of the proceeds raised going directly to support our vital work in the community”. The other 50% goes towards the prize and marketing.
“This enables us to save more pets in need, especially during these times where our traditional fundraising activities are not possible,” Ms Doelle says.
“The raffle enables us to have vital funds without any risk or all of our effort being spent on fundraising activities, enabling us to put our volunteer resources into our animals in our care, many of whom require a great deal of care and attention.”
A registered charity that rescues, raises, rehabilitates and rehomes pets in need, Canberra Pet Rescue saves stray, abandoned or neglected pets in need, provides them vet work and then finds them loving homes. They also help community members experiencing financial crisis with free pet food and items through their PetAssist program.
“The proceeds raised from the raffle goes directly to helping the animals in our care. We rely solely on donations so couldn’t provide our vital service without generous donors and raffle participants,” Ms Doelle says.
Canberra Pet Rescue would like to see hundreds more supporters sign up to the weekly raffle to help them save and rehome more animals – plus, be in the running to win $2,000 each week.
