Canberra beat out for snoring capital

New research has crowned Canberra as having the second most snorers per capita in the world. Researchers from international bedding company, Sleepseeker, recorded the number of snoring related internet searches per 1,000 people in capital cities across the globe – revealing the locations where snoring poses the biggest problem. Our bush capital snagged a strong second place, with local snorers inspiring 14,580 searches to be made. “While seemingly low,” the study reads, “Canberra is a relatively small capital city, resulting in a rate of 32.6 searches per 1000 people.”
Small but mighty, as the saying goes. Dublin beat us out for the capital city of snoring, with 45,510 snoring-related searches made in the last year, making a rate of 37.9 searches per 1000 residents.

Revenge dress going strong

All hail Princess Di! 27 years later and she is still the moment. “Revenge dress” searches spiked 400 per cent on 6 November, 24 hours after Aussie actress Elizabeth Debicki – who plays Princess Diana in season five of The Crown – was photographed wearing the famous gown on set.  The revenge dress is a £900 ($1,646.53 AUD) form-fitting black silk cocktail dress by Christina Stambolian, that the princess initially deemed “too racy” to wear.  On the night that her husband, Prince Charles, confessed his affair, she wore it accessorised with a pearl necklace crafted from the brooch given to her by the Queen Mother on her wedding day, sheer tights, and black pumps, successfully ensuring she, not the affair, was on every front page. Talk about a style influencer!
