Over 500 COVID cases in Southern NSW, 251 in Queanbeyan

The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) has recorded 553 new COVID cases with 251 infections coming in Queanbeyan.

Today’s numbers do not yet include self reported positive rapid antigen test results and are a large increase on yesterday’s 180 COVID cases in Southern NSW.

The number of people in hospital with the virus has remained steady at 28, four people are in the ICU. 29 people are under active care.

There are now 3,624 active COVID cases in the SNSWLHD.

The total number of infections since 1 July in the region is now 5,636 and there have been four deaths.

The Queanbeyan Palerang LGA recorded 251 new COVID-19 cases.

Eurobodalla LGA has 104 new cases.

Snowy Monaro LGA has 84 new COVID infections.

Goulburn Mulwaree LGA recorded 62 new cases.

Bega Valley LGA has 36 new infections.

Upper Lachlan reported 10 new cases.

Yass Valley LGA reported 6 COVID-19 cases.

NSW Health are reminding people that anyone who tests positive using a RAT is now required to register their result with Service NSW via the website or app under a Public Health Order.

Meanwhile, NSW recorded 48,768 new infections and 20 deaths.
