ACT COVID hospitalisations down, 620 new cases, no deaths

The ACT has recorded 620 new COVID-19 cases and no deaths, as hospitalisation numbers decline.

The new infections include 438 from PCR tests and 182 from rapid antigen tests, the territory’s health department confirmed on Saturday.

The number of patients in ACT hospitals has dropped by five to 61, down from a reported 66 on Friday. 

Five patients are in intensive care and one is on a ventilator.

There are now 4648 active COVID-19 cases in the territory.

Across the national capital, 44.9 per cent of residents aged over 18 have received their vaccine booster.

A man in his 80s became the ACT’s latest COVID-19 fatality on Friday, bringing the death toll to 26 since the pandemic began.
