Vehicles seized after burnouts in Hume

ACT Policing has seized two vehicles following burnout activity in Hume on Thursday night.

About 9.30pm on Thursday evening, 24 February, ACT Policing received calls regarding vehicles driving dangerously in Hume.

Upon arrival, officers observed a white Nissan Skyline and dark grey Nissan 180SX being driven dangerously and performing burnouts.

The cars were being driven by two men with passengers in each vehicle.

The vehicles were seized by police and the 21-year old and 27-year-old drivers have been charged with the improper use of a motor vehicle (burnouts). They will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.

ACT Policing reminds Canberra drivers that reckless and dangerous driving puts everyone at risk – the drivers, their passengers and other road users.

Police would like to thank the callers who reported the dangerous behaviour. Anyone who witnesses reckless or dangerous driving is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
