The 12th Stromlo Running Festival (SRF) was run over the weekend seeing participants from Canberra and interstate take on trail running courses of 50km, 30km, and 10km.
Postponed from its November date due to COVID-19 in 2021, the event was another record sell-out for the region’s largest trail running festival.
Performances did not disappoint with stiff competition in all courses and record-breaking runs in both the 50km and 30km by local Canberran runners.
Mike Carroll set a new Stromlo Running Festival Record with a blistering time of 3hrs and 41mins in 50km event with over 1,000m of climbing. Andrew Gatenby also finished strong in a time of 2hs and 2mins for the 30km.
Anyone who missed out on the weekend’s events will be pleased to know they won’t have to wait too long for the next event with the 13th SRF scheduled for Nov 19-20, 2022.
