The Abode Hotels ACT Meteors have named a 13-player squad for their home Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) clash against Queensland on Sunday at EPC Solar Park in Canberra.
The sixth-placed Meteors are coming off the back of a hard fought 19-run loss to Tasmania on Wednesday and will be looking to bounce back against the fourth-placed Queensland.
Batter Rebecca Carter was not available for selection due to a right ankle sprain sustained in the match against Tasmania. Carter will undergo an assessment with the Cricket ACT medical team over the coming days to assess her availability for the Meteors upcoming fixtures against South Australia on Tuesday.
The Meteors will play their remaining four games of the season in just seven days with the heavily condensed schedule as a result of COVID-19 impacts.
All WNCL fixtures in 2021/22 will be streamed live via cricket.com.au and Kayo Sports.
The Meteors have dedicated their remaining matches to raising funds for Lifeline Canberra and to shine a light on mental health within their community. Donations can be made via the Meteors gofundraise page, with all donations going directly to Lifeline Canberra.
