NightFest returns to light up Floriade nights

NightFest returns to Commonwealth Park during Floriade this year, with an exciting new program of events, after-dark fun, and illumination of blooms from 29 September to 2 October.

“After a two-year hiatus, the community can once again come together to enjoy NightFest,” Chief Minister Andrew Barr said.

Each evening from 6:30pm to 10:30pm, Commonwealth Park will be illuminated with colour, and filled with entertainers, musicians, and fabulous food. NightFest will feature entertainment across six venues in the park as well as roving performances.

This year’s program offers two distinct moods – Unwind and Invigorate. Come and unwind with chilled out sounds, a massage, and a glass of wine on Thursday 29 September and again on Sunday 1 October. Then dial up your weekend a notch by experiencing an electric party vibe on Friday 30 September and Saturday 31 September.

NightFest offers something for all the family with activities and entertainment for the kids as well, including neon face painting and glitter tattoos.

One of Canberra’s biggest tourist attractions, Floriade and NightFest are sure to provide a boost for the continuing recovery of Canberra’s economy, Mr Barr said.

Tickets are on sale from today, Friday, 5 August – adults $25, child/concession $15, and family $65; children under five are free.

Floriade, Australia’s biggest celebration of spring, turns 35 this year.
