A 41-year-old Bonner man has been charged with seven offences including possession of stolen property and driving while disqualified following his arrest in Bruce yesterday.
About 4pm yesterday 25 October, members from Operation TORIC located a parked Mitsubishi Lancer bearing stolen number plates in Bruce.
Police observed the man return to his car and attempt to leave the scene however officers were able to successfully deploy stop sticks and place the man under arrest.
The man, who was on bail at the time of his arrest, refused to undertake roadside screening tests and was transported to the ACT Watch House.
He was subsequently charged with seven offences including driving while disqualified, refusing to undergo a roadside screening test, refusing to provide an oral fluid sample, numberplates not properly issued, unlawful possession of stolen property, using an unregistered vehicle and using an uninsured vehicle.
He was also charged with breaching a drug and alcohol treatment order, breaching a good behaviour order and breaching existing bail conditions.
He is set to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, Wednesday 26 October, where bail will be opposed.
