The biggest cocktail mixer in Australia (probably) is on its way to Canberra on the back of a truck, on a mission to spread some Christmas cheer (and cheers!) in the Capital after an incredibly tough year.
Whiskey brand Monkey Shoulder is celebrating the first 12 days of the Christmas season with a cocktail mixer truck travelling to areas and venues that took a hit during 2020 in the ACT and NSW.
They’ll be dishing up Christmas cocktails in exchange for a donation to the local partner venues after bushfires, smoke and COVID-19 saw hospitality venues as some of the hardest hit businesses this year.
The menu will feature festive fare like a salted caramel espresso martini, gingerbread old fashioned and a Christmas pudding Rob Roy, all from Aussie bartender Lucille Rose.
Monkey Shoulder will also be matching up to $1,000 of donations to each venue.
You’ll be able to get your fix at Caribou in Kingston from Tuesday 1 to Thursday 3 December.
The mixer will also be heading to the coast, making a pit stop in Batemans Bay from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 December.
The mixer will stop at JJ’s at the Marina, and owner Jacob Crooke says it will help the community and the JJ’s team end 2020 “on a high” after an incredibly difficult year.
“The situation in 2020 hurt every business in this town and the whole South Coast,” he said.
“Bateman’s Bay was battered by both the bushfires at the start of the year and then the lack of tourism due to COVID-19, which almost completely destroyed the hospitality industry in this area.”
The mixer will then head north, to Port Macquarie and the Blue Mountains in NSW on 7-9 and 10-12 December respectively.
