Access Canberra transition this weekend

Access Canberra, the online ACT Government shopfront, will migrate to a new platform this Saturday 1 May. It will be unavailable from 7am to 5pm that day.

“This transition is part of the ACT Government’s ongoing work to save you time when you go online,” said Tara Cheyne MLA, Minister for Business and Better Regulation.

From 30 April, all Access Canberra accounts will be removed. Users will no longer be able to access their user history, including any outstanding Fix My Street requests.

However, all reports and queries lodged through the website will still be actioned. To follow up existing reports, phone Access Canberra on 13 22 81 and cite your name or email address.

More than 30,000 registered users will be emailed today, Tuesday 27 April, about the change.

Following the transition, users of the Access Canberra website can set up an ACT Digital Account to access services, using a single account with the same log-on details, said Special Minister of State, Chris Steel MLA.

During the website outage, services and payments such as car registration renewals, driver’s licence renewals, infringement payments, rates and land tax, and MyWay card top ups can still be accessed. Canberrans can phone 13 22 81 to report Fix My Street issues.

The Government will launch a redesigned Fix My Street website later this year. The site provides updates on regular maintenance works in suburbs, and lets residents report municipal and city service issues, including abandoned shopping trolleys, graffiti, and damaged paths and roads.

Ms Cheyne and Mr Steel said they understood this was a big change, and appreciated the public’s patience as these improvements were worked through over the coming months.
