ACT COVID-19 testing sites remain busy on Christmas Eve

Update: As of 12.08pm on Friday 24 December, the Garran testing site has the longest wait time of four hours. Kambah is next at two and a half hours while Mitchell and Nicholls are both 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Before: Christmas Eve hasn’t slowed down the rush of Canberrans lining up for a PCR COVID-19 test, with sites across the ACT busy early this morning.

ACT Health advise that the shortest wait times are generally during the day with the longest delays experienced in the morning, late afternoon and evening.

With the temperature predicted to hit 27 degrees in Canberra today, people are encouraged to be sun safe when lining up. Bring plenty of water, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a decent snack as well.

The news comes a day after the ACT hit a new daily record of 85 COVID-19 cases.
