A 15-year-old boy will again face the ACT Children’s Court today 24 March after his fifth arrest by ACT Policing’s Operation TORIC since December.
On Thursday morning 23 March, ACT Policing received a report of a residential burglary in Bruce where credit cards and a grey BMW X1 were allegedly stolen.
Police located the BMW, with three youths inside, about 6.35pm and monitored it as it was driven recklessly through several northside suburbs, including undertaking other vehicles in bike lanes and running several red lights.
About 7.25pm police approached the youths, two aged 15 and one aged 17, who were on foot in Townsville Street, Fyshwick and placed them under arrest. The BMW was located in Gladstone Street a short time later.
The three youths will face the ACT Children’s Court today, where police will oppose bail.
The first 15-year-old, who was granted court bail earlier this week, was charged with unlicenced driving, aggravated reckless driving, and driving a motor vehicle without consent.
The second 15-year-old has been charged with breach of good behavior obligations and riding a motor vehicle without consent.
The 17-year-old will face charges of riding a motor vehicle without consent and possessing a drug of dependence.
