ACT Policing: Man used fake online dating profiles

ACT Policing want information about a man who allegedly used fake online dating profiles to harass women. Can the public help?

Between January 2023 and January 2024, the man is believed to have used fake photos and a fake name to engage with several women via online dating platforms.

In one incident, the man allegedly exchanged his mobile number and residential address with a woman under the guise of the fake identity. When the man and woman met up, the man allegedly committed an act of indecency on the woman.

The man was subsequently charged with committing an act of indecency without consent.

Police have already spoken to several people about this matter, and urge anyone who is yet to speak to police or who has information about this matter to come forward.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote 7670821. Information can be provided anonymously.
