The ACT has recorded 19 new cases of COVID-19 overnight, with 13 linked to existing clusters or known cases.
11 of the 19 new cases were in quarantine for their entire infectious period, with six known to be infectious in community for at least part of their infectious period. Two remain under early investigation.
Out of the 13 linked new cases, 11 are household contacts.
There are now eight Canberrans hospitalised with or due to COVID-19, three down from yesterday.
One remains in ICU requiring ventilation.
Of the eight people in hospital, six are unvaccinated and two have received one dose.
23 people have been hospitalised in the ACT over the course of this outbreak. Of the 23, three have required treatment in ICU, with two requiring ventilation.
The new figures bring the Territory’s total to 404 cases associated with this outbreak.
174 have now recovered, 11 more than yesterday. There are 230 active cases in total at this time.
There remain 14 known public sites of transmission.
A new record number of vaccinations in the ACT was set yesterday, with over 3,000 doses administered.
As of today, 71.4 per cent of the ACT’s 344,000 residents aged 16 up have had their first dose, meaning roughly 246,000 have had received at least one jab.
47.6 per cent have had a second dose, or around 164,000 Canberrans.
There remain 185,000 Canberrans without any vaccination, and 267,000 not fully vaccinated.
Canberra has a total population of 431,000.
“This means we are still several months away of 80 per cent of our 12 plus population being fully vaccinated,” Chief Minister Andrew Barr said.
Testing numbers increased yesterday to nearly 3,500 having dropped to under 2,500.
“You do need to come forward for testing if you have any symptoms of if you’ve been in any of the exposure sites at the times listed,” Mr Barr said.
