ACT records 506 new COVID cases, one in ICU

The ACT has recorded 506 new COVID cases overnight, with one person now in intensive care with the virus.

It is the first time Canberra has recorded over 500 daily cases during the pandemic.

There are now nine people in hospital with active or cleared cases of the virus. One is in the ICU and requiring ventilation.

Active COVID cases in the ACT have jumped to 1,827 while there have been 4,795 total COVID-19 infections recorded since the Canberra lockdown began in August.

3,101 negative tests were returned in the past 24 hours while 98.5 per cent of Canberrans are โ€˜fully vaccinatedโ€™.
