ACT records eleventh road death of 2021 in Ngunnawal

The ACT today recorded its eleventh road death of 2021 after a 33-year-old woman lost her life in a single-vehicle collision between a car and a tree at the intersection of Arrabri Street and Horse Park Drive, Ngunnawal at midday today, 27 December.

ACT Policing and emergency services remain at the scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, and both roads remain closed at the intersection.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.

ACT Ambulance Service paramedics and ACT Fire and Rescue firefighters also attended and despite their efforts the woman passed away in a Canberra hospital.

This incident has been recorded as the eleventh death on ACT Roads this year.

ACT Policing’s Major Collision Team is conducting an investigation and will prepare a report for the coroner.

The ACT’s road toll rose to 10 earlier this month when a 43-year-old man was pinned by a truck trailer at a home construction site on Crone Terrace, Taylor

That incident was included in the road toll due to it occurring on a public road, in a construction area, and not on a worksite.
