ACT records fourth road fatality after single vehicle incident off Erindale Drive

ACT Policing are seeking community assistance in relation to the fatal motor vehicle collision which occurred this morning on Erindale Drive (Farrer Ridge).

Police are seeking dashcam footage from any vehicle that was driving on Erindale Drive, between Sulwood Drive and Long Gully Road, after 9.30pm AEDT on Saturday 2 April and before 3.10am AEST on Sunday 3 April.

Anyone who has dashcam footage within this time period is requested to contact ACT Policing on 131 444.

The ACT reported its fourth road fatality of the year after a man died this morning in a single vehicle collision off the northbound lanes of Erindale Drive.  

At about 6.45am today, Sunday 3 April, police received reports of a vehicle that had travelled through a guard rail into the embankment below.  

Despite the efforts of onlookers, police officers, ACT Fire & Rescue and ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics, the man was declared deceased at the scene. 

The northbound lanes of Erindale Drive were closed from the Sulwood Drive intersection. Walking trails near the collision area were also closed.  

Canberrans were asked to avoid the surrounding area while the Major Collision Team conducted their investigation.  

ACT Policing are not treating the death as suspicious and would like to remind Canberrans to remain vigilant and drive safely on our roads.
