ACT records just six new COVID-19 cases

The ACT has recorded just six new COVID-19 cases overnight, the equal lowest number since 1 November.

The number of hospitalisations in Canberra has dropped to three, with one in the ICU requiring ventilation. The vaccination status of those in hospital is unknown.

A spike in recent hospitalisations due to COVID comes from a change in reporting methods by health authorities to include both active and cleared cases in hospital.

Active cases in the ACT have dropped from 185 yesterday to 173 with the total number of cases during the outbreak now at 1,847.

Testing numbers jumped considerably in the past 24 hours with 2,173 negative tests recorded.

There is now 96.6 per cent of Canberra’s population over 12 who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
