An EPIC birthday bash for Lifeline Canberra’s Bookfair

The biggest bookfair in the country is back! Lifeline Canberra are hosting their EPIC Bookfair, and this year is a special one – they’re turning 50.

Blazing the trail for half a century now, Lifeline Canberra are once again filling EPIC with over a quarter of a million unique and cherished items set to entice booklovers from all corners of Canberra.

After three long years of being unable to host the Bookfair at EPIC, Lifeline Canberra are preparing for next weekend to be their biggest one to date.

Lifeline Canberra CEO, Carrie Leeson, said she’s delighted to be able to host the Bookfair this year and hopes it reminds Canberrans of the power of staying connected.

“We are thrilled to be back at EPIC after three years of disruption and uncertainty around our largest fundraiser for crisis support services in our community,” Mrs Leeson said.

“The team have worked incredibly hard to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone who has waited so patiently to show their support and restock their shelves.”

Bookfair patrons can sleep peacefully knowing they’ve not only purchased some fabulous items but are more importantly helping fund Lifeline’s life-saving calls.

It costs the organisation $26 per call, and the average spend per person at the Bookfair is $31.

To celebrate Lifeline’s 50th birthday, there’s also the chance to win one of four golden tickets giving you precious early access to the July 2022 Bookfair, before the hordes of eager of book worms arrive.

“In the lead up to every Bookfair, we receive dozens of requests from individuals hoping to gain early access to this treasure trove of books, memorabilia, vinyl records, and DVD’s,” Mrs Leeson said.

“By giving visitors to this weekend’s Bookfair the opportunity to win a golden ticket we are hoping to facilitate this and have a great deal of fun at the same time.”

Experts will be on hand to help you rummage through the abundance of incredible items and can assist you in finding anything specific you may be searching for.

The Lifeline Epic Bookfair will be running from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 February.

Entry requires a gold coin donation, free parking is available, and the event will be following Covid-safe guidelines.
