Another storm wreaks havoc on Canberra

Canberra has been blasted by yet another summer storm, with heavy winds and large hailstones pelting parts of the city.

More than 150 requests for assistance have been made to the ACT SES, with fallen trees and leaky roofs the main issues.

Crews are responding to incidents as quickly as possible, with the most critical jobs attended to first.

The ACT SES are warning that although the impact of current storms has eased, more rainfall and possible storms could occur throughout the evening. They are urging the public to take care if out and about, particularly on roadways and around trees that could be affected by storm damage.

If you need help during a storm or flood, call the ACTSES on 132 500.

Evoenergy issued a statement saying there are a number of suburbs across Canberra without power. More than 6,000 homes have been impacted by the power outages, ranging from north to south Canberra.
