Barton foodie haunt LiloTang has reopened, showing off a brand new look, menu and atmosphere.
The Japanese eatery, located at Doma’s Burbury Hotel, has been closed since April, and has some exciting new additions.
Doma’s director of hotels, Patrick Lonergan, says every area of the restaurant has had a makeover, with the interiors designed by local firm Capezio Copeland, who incorporated a wall dedicated to Manga.
“We built a new a bar, outdoor courtyard, take away window and changed the layout of the restaurant area to incorporate a mixture of high and low tables, private and communal dining options,” he says.
Another new addition is the LiloTang kitchen team, who have revamped the menu which includes options for lunch, dinner and takeaway.
“The takeaway will consist of some favourites such as bento boxes, poke and sushi,” Mr Lonergan says, while the dine-in menu is “vast and designed to share”.
The revamped dine-in menu includes mouth-watering additions like the braised wagyu beef brisket bao bun and the popcorn shrimp, which can be washed down with an extensive drinks menu featuring inventive cocktails, sake and almost 80 whiskey options.
“When we announced our opening, the team have been busy since taking bookings which is really pleasing,” Mr Lonergan says.
“It’s a beautiful new space which I think people are going to love.”
LiloTang initially closed its doors earlier in the year due to COVID-19 as travel restrictions saw a drastic reduction in demand for hotels. So, when restrictions started to ease and the ACT’s situation improved, the team decided to proceed with the refurbishment and revamp LiloTang’s offering to welcome back domestic tourists.
“It feels the worst is behind us now and our hotels, restaurants and bars are all enjoying improving results week on week now,” Mr Lonergan says.
“The domestic tourism market has certainly picked up and we are expecting a strong December this year compared to last.”
LiloTang can be found on Burbury Close in Barton and is open for lunch Wednesday–Friday 12-3pm and dinner Wednesday–Saturday 5-10pm. You can book online via their website.
